Lifelong learning refers to the continuous process of acquiring knowledge, skills, and competencies throughout one’s life. Lifelong learning is crucial to ensure that the health and care workforce stay updated with best practices, and evidence-based approaches.

This webinar will present the global, UNESCO perspectives on the importance of adult learning and the WHO Academy’s approach to promoting and enabling lifelong learning. We will focus on the necessity to provide inclusive education both to health professionals, health and care workforce with no professional qualifications and for patients and societies. Following its inauguration in October 2024, WHO Academy will provide opportunities for the health and care workforce to develop competencies and acquire new skills to meet the evolving needs of the healthcare sector and provide high-quality care to individuals and communities.
