This ESME mini course introduces some key ideas and concepts underpinning continuing professional development (CPD) in the health professions, with the overall aim of enabling you to describe the key principles underpinning the practice of CPD and relate them to your own setting and environment.

The course is aimed at those involved in the design, delivery and assessment of CPD activities, although it may also be relevant to funders, accreditors and others involved in CPD educational provision. Some of the activities require you to draw on examples from your own practice and experience as a CPD educator. If your primary role is as a provider of educational CPD (faculty development), you may find one of our other ESME courses meets your needs better. Please contact our team on courses@amee.org before registering for the course if you wish to discuss its suitability for your needs.

This course can be stacked with other ESME mini courses to obtain the AMEE-ESME Certificate in CPD for health professions education. More information about the full ESME course is available on our website, including a discounted rate if you purchase the modules and assessment together.
